FlowChem is a Mexican chemical engineering company specialized in well stimulation, flow assurance, and enhanced oil recovery for the upstream oil and gas sector. With more than 25 years of combined group experience, the company designs, manufactures, and delivers tailor-made chemical systems for oil, gas, and gas condensate wells, with laboratory and production infrastructure in Tabasco and Morelos and a catalog of over 240 chemical products. FlowChem's patented systems have driven production increases of up to 2,500 barrels per day in treated wells, with active operations across strategic fields in the Gulf of Mexico including Maloob, Quesqui, Zaap, Ayatsil, Ixachi, and Balam, serving clients including PEMEX, Tecpetrol, IHSA, Diavaz, CENAGAS, and Typhoon Offshore.

About

FlowChem logo with a stylized molecule above the text

FlowChem was built on a single conviction: that no two wells are the same, and therefore no chemical treatment should be either. Reservoir chemistry, fluid composition, formation mineralogy, temperature, and pressure all vary from well to well and field to field. The chemical systems used to stimulate, clean, and sustain production must be designed accordingly. FlowChem exists to deliver that precision.

The company operates as part of the CYP Group alongside Corrosión y Protección, Macrolab, and Vidya Ingeniería, a cluster of engineering and applied science companies serving Mexico's productive sectors since 1997. Within the group, FlowChem holds the mandate for well efficiency: the chemistry that keeps reservoirs productive, production strings clean, and hydrocarbon flow rates optimized across the upstream value chain.

FlowChem's technical scope covers the three pillars of upstream production chemistry. In well stimulation, the company deploys advanced acid systems, nodal analysis, scale treatment, and compatibility testing to maximize extraction efficiency. In flow assurance, it designs customized strategies to prevent paraffin and asphaltene blockages using specialized dispersants and solvents adapted to each well's fluid profile. In enhanced oil recovery, it develops systems that increase formation permeability and reduce crude viscosity, achieving measurable production gains in high-performance operations.

The company's portfolio of patented chemical systems reflects years of Mexican research and development. Its flagship 2024 systems include MULTIDES01-2024, a multifunctional asphaltene stabilizer and emulsion controller that achieves up to 62% viscosity reduction at dosages below 500 ppm, and F9BEC 2024, a reactive system engineered specifically for electric submersible pump cleaning with 97% scale solubilization, thermal stability under HPHT conditions, and corrosion control in Cr-13 steel. Alongside these, the company's broader catalog spans acid systems, retarded acid systems, divergent systems for water-cut reduction, solvent packages for deposit control, and a full suite of additives covering corrosion inhibitors, clay inhibitors, iron sequestrants, H2S scavengers, foamers, antifoams, and surfactants.

What separates FlowChem from chemical distributors is the depth of its diagnostic discipline. Before any treatment is recommended, the company's laboratory team characterizes produced water, evaluates asphaltene flocculation by absorbance testing, determines viscosity and paraffin crystallization profiles, runs gravimetric and electrochemical corrosion tests, and analyzes solids by X-ray diffraction. This scientific rigor, conducted at its specialized hydrocarbon and well stimulation laboratory in Cunduacán, Tabasco, ensures that every system is matched to the real conditions it will encounter downhole.

FlowChem's field team brings more than two decades of operational experience executing and optimizing treatments in Mexico's most demanding producing basins. Academic alliances with UNAM's Faculty of Chemistry and the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco reinforce its research foundation. ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and ISO 45001 certifications govern its quality, environmental, and safety management systems.

FlowChem's proposition is precise: wells that produce more, for longer, with chemistry that was designed specifically for them.
