Macrolab is a materials science company specialized in corrosion inhibitor manufacturing and pipeline integrity services for the oil and gas industry. Operating since 2016, the company designs, produces, and delivers plant-derived corrosion inhibitors across the full energy value chain, serving clients including PEMEX, Diavaz, Tecpetrol, and IHSA. With 42 patents, ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certifications, and a production capacity of 60,000 liters per week, Macrolab currently injects 90 metric tons of inhibitor monthly into Mexican pipeline infrastructure.

Macrolab was founded with a conviction that materials science could do more than describe corrosion. It could stop it. Emerging from the technical infrastructure of Corrosión y Protección, Macrolab was established to close the gap between laboratory discovery and industrial application, translating advances in chemistry and materials science into solutions that work in the field, under real operating conditions.

From its earliest work, Macrolab focused on the integrity of pipeline infrastructure: the networks that carry crude oil, refined fuels, and gas across Mexico and that form the backbone of the country's energy sector. Rather than treating corrosion as an inevitable cost of doing business, the company approached it as an engineering problem with a scientific solution. That orientation led to the development of its own corrosion inhibitor formulations, products designed not only to perform, but to perform at scale, with the traceability, certification, and field data that serious industrial clients require.

Over time, Macrolab built a distinctive position in the market: it is both manufacturer and technical service provider. It produces its own inhibitors at its facility in Jiutepec, Morelos, formulates them to the specific chemistry of each client's pipeline system, delivers them directly to site, and monitors their performance. This integration, from lab synthesis to in-situ injection, gives Macrolab a level of accountability and responsiveness that procurement-only suppliers cannot offer.

The company's inhibitor portfolio spans the full oil and gas value chain, from upstream exploration and production to midstream transport and downstream distribution. Its plant-derived active compounds, based on imidazoline chemistry sourced from regional vegetation in Guerrero, represent a commitment to biodegradable, environmentally responsible formulations without compromise on efficacy. Protection rates above 97%, validated against NRF-005-PEMEX-2009 and tested under ASTM G185 rotating cylinder conditions.

With 42 patents across its portfolio, ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certifications, EMA laboratory accreditation, and a production capacity of 60,000 liters per week, Macrolab today serves clients across Tamaulipas, Campeche, and national offshore operations, injecting 90 metric tons of inhibitor every month into Mexican pipeline infrastructure.

Macrolab exists because corrosion does not wait. Neither does it.
